  • Minister for Health Simon Harris will deliver the opening address and Jim Breslin, Secretary General at the Department of Health, will inform of State health policy and policy surrounding older people.
  • The ESRI is undertaking a major research study that will assess requirement for long-term and intermediate care places for the years up to 2030. Findings emanating from the research study will be presented at the conference. 
  • What does the Assisted Decision Making Capacity Act 2015 mean for nursing homes? Professor Brendan Kelly, Trinity College, will guide conference attendees through the Act.
  • Attendees will be guided through HIQA's new monitoring approach within the nursing home sector
  • The Ulster University research, commissioned by NHI, The Lived Experience of Nursing Home Residents in the context of the Nursing Home as their 'Home' gives voice to residents in nursing home care. Become aware of the key findings and recommendations emanating from this groundbreaking research study
  • Enda McNulty has worked with the Heineken Cup Champions Leinster, top sports stars including Brian O'Driscoll, Shane Lowry and David Gillick, and a wide array of corporate clients nationally and internationally to motivate their human performance, leadership performance and mental toughness. His motivational speech at the conference will be titled Inspire to achieve - Tools to inspire teams, banish negativity, and perform to the highest level, engendering pride and positive perspective in staff teams, to achieve highest quality experience for residents and meet business objectives.
