NHI Annual Survey
NHI Annual Survey 2009/2010
In 2010 Nursing Homes Ireland published the Annual Private Nursing Home Survey 2009/2010 which was compiled by Howath Bastow Charleton Limerick. This is the sixth Annual Survey which has been produced by Horwath on behalf of the sector.
Because of when the information collated in this survey was collected, its title is Annual Survey 2009/2010. During this period, as has been noted elsewhere, two of the most significant changes to take place in the industry occured - the introduction of the HIQA Registration and Inspection Regime in July 2009 and the Nursing Homes Support Scheme (Fair Deal) in October 2009.

NHI Annual Survey 2007
Horwath Bastow Charleton Limerick, having undertaken the Survey in previous years on behalf of the Irish Nursing Home Orgnaisation, undertook to produce the 2007 Survey on behalf of the newly formed Nursing Homes Ireland.
The Survey was undertaken in late 2007 when a detailed questionnaire was sent to every registered private nursing home in the country. The comprehensive questionnaire covered areas such as occupancy, rates, income and costs. Also included were questions to allow us to develop a profile of nursing homes in terms of their layout, size, design, facilities and services offered. We examined the independent living unit sector in greater detail and covered questions on a range of other topics including staffing, dependency levels amongst residents and contracts with the HSE.
A total number of 152 nursing homes responded to the questionnaire.
