The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and his key role is to promote the objectives of the organisation and to influence policy makers. The CEO’s role is to develop and maintain a positive relationship with all stakeholders including members, the general public, statutory and voluntary bodies which work to promote the best interests of older people, Government Departments, HSE, HIQA, NTPF and other relevant agencies.

Membership & Operations Manager
Jeremy_Hart_1.jpg Jeremy's role as Membership and Operations Manager is to ensure  that our organisation is running as well as it possibly can, with a  smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of  members.

Jeremy is in direct contact with members dealing with member queries and as a support to employees within the office who are providing advice and information to our members.

Jeremy’s role includes supporting the 10 NHI regions, including attendance at regional meetings, to ensure strong Member engagement and participation.

Sinead Morrissey
Practice Development Facilitator


Sinead_Morrissey.jpgWith responsibility for all clinical matters directed through the organisation. Sinead represents NHI on a number of national and local working groups aimed at improving standards, educating and providing support and guidance to staff with the vision for improving the care given to our older population. In addition, the role of the Practice Development Facilitator is to review international practice and research to assist in the development of new initiatives within the Irish nursing home sector. Sinead reports to the Board of Directors through the CEO and assists in driving the agenda of the National Nursing Committee.

Michael McGlynn

Communications and Research Executive
Michael_McGlynn.jpgWith responsibility for managing the communications, research and information functions of Nursing Homes Ireland. Michael is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of NHI internal and external communications including media, website, member's communications and publications. Responsible for the research function of NHI to contribute to the wider policy objectives and work programme of the organisation.

Ciara Carty

HR & Employee Relations Specialist 


 Ciara’s role is to support Members by providing up to date  HR advice, information sheets, templates etc., enabling  workforce planning and recruitment, delivering and  coordinating HR & Recruitment training, webinars etc. and  also fulfilling the internal NHI HR function.

Paula Lumsden

Events Co-ordinator

Olivia Slater
Membership Liaison Officer 


Olivia is the first point of contact for Members and ensures Member queries are responded to. She provides support for Member use and login to the NHI Members website and Portal. Members Regional Meetings are supported by Olivia through her correspondence regarding and arrangement of meetings.

Zowie Farrell
Accounts Assistant

Zowie has responsibility for recording, preparing and presenting all aspects of NHI’s financial accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and VAT returns.

Zowie issues Membership invoices and responds to Member queries relating to Membership fees, as well as payments for NHI events, Garda Vetting and sponsorship.

Anne O’Donoghue
Garda Vetting Administrator
Anne_O_Donohoe.jpgWith responsibility for all aspects of processing Garda Vetting applications from individual Nursing Homes with the Garda Central Vetting Unit, representative for Nursing Home Ireland in dealings with Garda Vetting Unit, managing vetting records on receipt of results.

Helena Gleeson  
Project Officer, Nurse Recruitment 

Helena_Gleeson.jpgWith responsibility for leading a Nurse recruitment campaign, Helena’s role as Project Officer will be at a higher level with the objective of setting up a platform from which member nursing homes can recruit suitably qualified nursing staff. Member Nursing Homes will use this platform to recruit their nurses and Helena will also implement guidelines and assist at all levels. The intention is to set up a footprint for the future recruitment of nurses and also work with nursing homes on workforce planning. Helena will also work closely with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland, The Department of Health and The Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation to ensure all regulatory aspects of recruiting nurses is up to date and accurate for members.

While Helena will not actually recruit nurses directly for individual Nursing Homes she will be very closely involved with members to advise and direct them in their search.
