Introducing Laxaclear® – a laxative for the short-term treatment of constipation

What is Laxaclear®?

Laxaclear® is a gentle yet effective oral laxative treatment developed for short term use in cases of constipation in adults, adolescents and the elderly.

Up until now the active ingredient of Laxaclear®, macrogol 3350, could only be obtained on prescription, but now the effectiveness of this molecule can be purchased in your local pharmacy without the hassle of visiting your GP first.

Each dose of Laxaclear® powder comes in a handy sachet which is dissolved in water and can be taken up to 4 times a day.

What is constipation?

According to the HSE, constipation is a very common condition which means that you are not passing stools (faeces) as often as you normally do, you have to strain more than usual or you are unable to completely empty your bowels.

It can be triggered by a number of factors including diet, stress, lifestyle, certain medications and underlying medical conditions.

Who is Laxaclear® for?

Laxaclear® is indicated for adults, the elderly and adolescents over 12 years of age.
