Helix Life Support Mesh Media Bag with Drawstring Cedar Algae Skimmer RakeMedia performs best as a filter when it is not in a bag, but unless you have a filter specifically made for loose lava rock or other media (like the Helix Bio Mechanical Waterfall Filter or Bio Mechanical Reactor), many people prefer keeping their media in a bag for easy removal and rinsing. The Helix Mesh Media Bag measures 19" x 23", and features a drawstring for easy closing.
