Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI) Renews its Partnership with GAA+ for the 2026 GAA Championship Season
Wednesday April 1, 2026Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI) is pleased to announce that it has renewed its partnership with GAA+, the GAA’s live and on-demand streaming platform, for the 2026 football and hurling championship seasons. Through this partnership, over 30,000 residents and staff in all HIQA-registered private and voluntary nursing homes across the country will have access to approximately 40 live matches (beginning April 11th), as well as a host of exclusive GAA+ original content, such as a The View (a twice weekly live show), the Ratified Podcast Series, and Classic GAA Games from previous seasons – all free of charge.
Through this partnership, GAA+ has provided NHI with a unique code for each of its members, so that they can access live matches and the full catalogue of GAA+ content for the 2026 Championship season.
NHI CEO Tadhg Daly welcomed the renewal of this unique partnership saying: “The renewal of this partnership goes far beyond the provision of free-to-access streaming of live Gaelic Games. It helps to strengthen the connections between the GAA, nursing home residents, and communities nationwide. This partnership also supports the shared commitment of NHI and the GAA, to ensure that nursing home residents remain connected to their communities through the tradition of watching live Gaelic Games.”
This renewed partnership will also facilitate the development of truly meaningful connections and shared experiences between nursing home residents and staff members through the connection that only sport can bring.
Commenting on the partnership, Tadhg Daly, CEO of Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI), said; “We are deeply proud to share our 2026 partnership with the GAA — an initiative that means so much to nursing home residents. Bringing live Gaelic games into nursing homes is about more than just sport; it’s about keeping people connected to the moments, memories, and communities that have shaped their lives. These matches carry a special kind of magic — they spark stories, rekindle lifelong passions, and create new shared moments of happiness together. We can’t wait to see the jerseys come out, the flags flying, and the homes filled with the energy excitement and passion that our Gaelic games bring.”
NHI have now issued the GAA+ access codes to all registered private and voluntary nursing homes and looks forward to residents and staff enjoying what proves to be another exciting and successful GAA season.
