Nursing Homes Week 2025 Launches with Special Message from Daniel O’Donnell

Nursing Homes Ireland is proud to launch Nursing Homes Week 2025, a nationwide celebration taking place from 18–24 August. This year’s theme – A Taste of Home: Where Every Dish Tells a Story – invites residents, staff, families, and local communities to share the recipes, food traditions, and special dishes that bring comfort, spark memories, and create connection.

We are delighted to begin the week with a very special video message from Daniel O’Donnell, one of Ireland’s most beloved singers. In his message, Daniel reflects on the power of food to bring people together and encourages everyone to take part in celebrating the meals and memories that mean the most.

Throughout the week, nursing homes across the country will host food-themed activities – from Bread & Butter Monday to Sweet Sunday – alongside music, storytelling, and intergenerational events.
